- I play in an alt pop band. My current instruments are an Akai MPC 1000 and a Korg R3. I'm looking to buy another synth, for bass line purposes. I'd place my emphasis on the ability to create my own patches rather than using presets. What's a good bass synthesizer? I have been looking at the Microkorg XL, The Alesis Micron and the Akai Miniak. I don't want to use a laptop + MIDI controller setup.
